The best winter trousers you can buy

Madison Zenith 4-Season DWR trousers

£90

Madison Zenith 4-Season SWR back

The Madison Zenith 4-Season DWR trousers are all-weather trousers designed for year-round use. The four-way stretch fabric is water-repellent, and those areas prone to soaking are properly waterproof. They’re lightweight and incredibly comfortable, but you need to be careful when picking your size.

Madison DTE Women's Waterproof Trousers

The Madison DTE Waterproof trousers have been an epiphany for winter riding keeping me dry, clean and warm through the foulest of conditions. A sure fire way to make winter riding a lot less dirty and a lot more fun.

Alpinestars Tahoe Pants

£140

alpinestar-tahoe-waterproof-trousers-review-1.jpg

Alpinestars Tahoe Pants – or trousers if you're from the UK – are waterproof, rugged and simple in design. They offer few frills, but they're comfy, effective and breathe well enough for use in anything up to around 10 degrees. The waist is a bit saggy and loose, however, though that's the only real niggle.

Cube Blackline Rain Pants

£110

Cube's Blackline Rain Pants are high quality and properly waterproof, with a tailored fit that means they don't flap about when you're riding. The ripstop material is tough and they're highly packable, but lack of space around the knee joint means they only work with the lowest profile pads, which may be a deal-breaker for some.

ION Softshell Shelter women's pants

£135

ION Softshell Shelter women's pants 2019-4.jpg

The softshell Shelter women’s pants from ION are stretchy and light with a durable rear panel and DWR coating, they are best for cold, dry days or for days when the rain or trail spray is light. 2019 see them get a more fitted cut and are now available in cool new colourways.

More will be added as we review them so stay tuned for the test of gear from Endura, Giro and more.
