Fidlock's Twist Bottle 450 + Bike Base offers a different solution to storing a water bottle on your bike, using magnets. Smart, easy to use, secure, and low-profile system, that's ideal for tight-fitting frames but comes at a premium price.

The Fabric Gripper Bottle lives up to it name. It's easy to hold and retrieve from the cage, with just the right amount of squish for fast fluid delivery.

CamelBak Podium Dirt Series Chill 21oz insulated water bottle

£15

CamelBak Dirt Series Podium Insulated water bottle-1.jpg

The new CamelBak Podium Dirt Series Chill 21oz (620ml) water bottle is an insulated vessel with a valve cap to keep us mountain bikers from tasting the dirt. There's a new valve and lock out on the cap and it's easier to clean than the last iteration of the top too.

Elite Fly MTB 550 water bottle

£6.50

Water bottles can be pretty similar but Elite's Fly MTB 550 bottle has had a bit more thought put into it than most, with a neat, quick-release cover to keep filth off the valve, lightweight construction and high volume flow. It's great for riders or racers that get out in foul weather, whether on dirt or hardpack.

CamelBak Podium Dirt Series 21oz water bottle

£15

Camelbak Podium Dirt Series water Bottle Review-1.jpg

The new CamelBak Podium Dirt Series21oz (620ml) water bottle is a simple plastic drinks bottle with a brand new valve and cap. The new valve is great but the Mud Cap is an afterthought and doesn't work well in practice.

Specialized Purist MoFlo water bottle

£11

The Specialized Purist MoFlo 22oz water bottle is a simple drinking bottle that is easy to drink from and doesn't retain any aftertaste, great for use with electrolytes or other recovery drinks.

Camelbak Podium 710ml bottle

£15

Jim over at road.cc gave high praise to the Skratch Labs version of the Camelbak Podium 710ml bottle, his only criticism being that the shape didn't work with some bottle cages. This latest version looks to have addressed that – though the price has gone up by a chunk.

We are well aware that this buyer's guide is a little CamelBak heavy at the moment so we will endeavour to add more variety to the list over the coming months. Check back soon for more.
