Gore Fernflow shorts and TrailKPR jersey

Kicking off this week's 5 cool things with a faint whiff of daffodil, here's a couple of bits from Gore's spring collection. The Fernflow shorts are designed to tackle nearly all manners of technical terrain, whether that's through serious heat or if the heavens open. The CORDURA fabric gets a DWR coating to help the shorts shrug off water and there's an adjustable waistband kitted with silicone grippers to keep them in place. The four-way stretch fabric is said to be quick-drying and there are laser-cut air vents to keep things cool.

Then, we've got the gore TrailKPR jersey. It's built to last and uses 56% recycled fabrics. That material is high-stretch and uses a partially seamless construction. Gore says it's highly breathable, quick drying and that it comes with reflective details.

Fox Enduro Pro Knee Guards

Fox's Enduro Pro Knee Guards are designed to offer all of the 'hard-knock' protection but without sacrificing mobility and while keeping bulk to a minimum. They use a slip-on construction and are kept in place by a pair of silicone strips and an elastic strap around the back of the pad. The main sock uses a moisture-wicking material too, so they should stay nice and dry.

Bontrager's Adventure Handlebar Bag adds a proper bulk of carrying capacity to the front of your bike. Its nine-litre capacity is closed up with a roll-top and makes use of a waterproof construction, to keep your valuables dry. Then, two nylon straps along with a single stem strap keep the pack in place. Closing off this 5 cool things is a little more from Gore. This time, we've got the brand's TrailKPR gloves that promise to be lightweight and robust. They're also designed to offer a tactile bar feel thanks to a reinforced and abrasion-resistant palm. The gloves are then built with a touch screen sensitive material on the thumb and pointer finger, along with a bit of silicone for grip on the brakes.
