Cotic has today announced an update to its steel mountain bike range, the Jeht. This iteration of the trail-going ripper gets subtle tweaks, rather than a drastic overhaul, taking the learnings of the FlareMAX and RocketMAX bikes and applying them to this mid-travel platform.

Cotic says that the latest Jeht is more about subtle evolution, so there's a bunch that stays the same, namely the head angle and rear centre. However, the brand has dropped the bottom bracket height in order to improve the cornering grip and to increase the bike's stack height to boost confidence. This new Jeht also benefits from the brand's stiffer and stronger Reynolds 853 HD down tube, which Cotic says comes with no weight penalty.
The bike is compatible, and available with either a 150mm or 140mm suspension fork with the former offering a 64.5-degree head angle, a 482mm reach and a 448mm chainstay in the C3 size. Of course, this bike rolls on 29-inch or mullet wheels with 140mm of rear suspension.

The suspension rate has been increased for this bike, across all sizes. So this time around progression sits at 22% for the C1 size, and 28% for the C5 while anti-squat and anti-rise remain the same. And you might have guessed but the Jeht moves to Cotic's C-sizing five-step sizing regime. The whole idea of this is to offer a better fit for riders by reducing the reach steps between sizes to under 20mm. The seat tubes also get shorter and there are steeper seat angles, all to improve rider fit and reduce the chance of riders sitting between sizes.
Cotic's Gen2 Jeht is available now with C2 and C3 sizes in stock. Prices start at £2,200 and that'll get you a frame and RockShox Deluxe Select Plus shock. Fox, Cane Creek and other RockShox alternatives are available.

The Bronze build serves as an entry point full build that is built up with a Shimano SLX drivetrain and wheels, Deore brakes and a RockShox Revelation fork paired with a Super Deluxe Select Plus shock. For a £150 upcharge, Cotic will upgrade the fork to run the Charger 2.1 damper. Prices for this build start at £4,225.
As for the Silver build, that features upgrades in the form of Hunt wheels, a RockShox Pike Ultimate fork and a Cane Creek Air IL shock. Prices for this one start at £5,075.

Builds and prices continue, topping out at £8,000 Works build that rocks Hope wheels, brakes and finishing kit, Cane Creek titanium crank, Shimano XTR shifting, a Garbaruk cassette, WTB tyres and a Fox Factory Float X shock paired with a RockShox Lyrik Ultimate fork.
Every bike is assembled at Cotic HQ in the UK and as always, potential customers can tweak any bike spec to suit their preferences. Oh, and all front triangles and finishing is done in the UK by Five Land Bikes.
