Muc-Off announces the Young Guns Academy competition
Muc-Off's downhill racing team known for nurturing young talent has been around for a little while now. Today, the brand has announced that it is hunting for fresh talent. The new competition has three places on the academy team up for grabs, with a chance of making it to the fully supported team in 2024.

That's right, Muc-Off is looking for brand-new riders to join its team and is doing with a competition. Open to riders aged from 12 to 15, aspiring racers will need to fill out a questionnaire and submit a video highlight reel, showing off their skills on the bike, and describing exactly why they deserve a spot on the team.
Then, a panel of judges comprising existing team members and Muc-Off staff will create a shortlist of eight riders who will be invited to attend an all-expenses paid trip to Bike Park Wales for a trial day. Not only will this offer a chance for the hopeful team riders to meet the team, but they'll be able to show off their skills even more whilst helping the judges pick the best of the best.
Though it must be noted that downhill is not a prerequisite and entries are open to anyone who rides bikes, whether that's BMX, road, slopestyle or track. All Muc-Off is looking for is enthusiasm and bike prowess.
The three successful candidates will be fully kitted out in team kit, with protection from Leatt, tyres from Schwalbe and casual wear from Stance. Fit4Racing and Downamics will also be supporting the team and Muc-Off, of course, will be providing the full suite of bike care products.
Successful riders will be able to train and race at events around the UK for the remainder of the 2023 season and one will be picked to become a fully supported rider with bikes from Mondraker and the opportunity to work towards racing at World Cup level.
