To celebrate its 30th birthday, component and bike brand, Nukeproof has gone back to what launched the business from the beginning and has released a range of brand new components, with new chain guides, bash guards, bottom brackets, headsets and handlebars.

Kicking things off here's Nukeproofs Horizon V2 Carbon Bars. After the success of the V1, the V2 gets a complete, ground-up, overhaul with a brand new shape, carbon layup and feel.

The brand thinks that a nine degree back sweep is the perfect position for a rider's wrists but with such a degree, some of the reach is lost. Nukeproof has designed the new bar with less back sweep at the ends of the bar but with an offset which offers the same wrist position but retains the reach of a bikes frame.

Nukeproof has also put intensive testing into the Horizon V2 to make sure that they're just as strong as their predecessors. You'll find all of these updates in a cheaper alloy version too. All bars are available in 780 and 800mm widths along with 35mm and traditional clamp sizes.

The carbon V2 handlebars cost £110 and come in carbon or grey colourways. The alloy bar will set you back £60 and come in black, blue, red, grey, copper and purple colourways.

There are also new chain guides and bash guards. There are three options available, Low Direct Mount (SRAM S2 / Shimano E-Type Standard), Top Guide (ISCG05) and a Top Guide with Bash (also ISCG05).

The backplates are machined 6061 aluminium mated to composite top guides and bashes. On models with a bash guard, a 32t and 36t plate are supplied for ultimate versatility.

The Top Guides are co-moulded with soft rubber on the inside to increase durability and reduce noise. There's also a handy marker to help align the top guide with your chain.

The Low Direct guide will cost £28 and weigh 32g, the top guide costs £35, weighing 45g and the Top Guide with Bash will cost £60 and weigh 106g.

Nukeproof says that the new Horizon headsets are a big step change in performance and quality.

The Horizons headsets will feature titanium-coated races with stainless steel balls. You can also buy the bearings separately and they'll fit just fine in your existing Nukeproof headset. The brand is so confident in its new bearings that they're offering a five-year warranty.

Joining the headsets are new Horizon bottom brackets, also featuring the coated titanium racer bearings.

Nukeproof will offer the bottom brackets to be compatible with Shimano HT-2, GXP, and DUB shells. There's also a model for 30mm spindle cranks and pressfit versions. There's also a warranty on the BBs but for two years.

The headsets and BBs will come in 6 colourways, black, grey, copper, red, blue and purple. They'll retail at £60 for the BB and the headsets will come in at £30 for separate top and bottom cups with the bearing kits at £20.
