Rab unveils cycling-specific Cinder Collection
Following last year's announcement, Rab has finally launched its Cinder Collection targeted at off-road cyclists - and it's a pretty comprehensive range.
- The best waterproof mountain bike jackets
- The best waterproof mountain bike shorts: ridden, reviewed and rated
- Winter mountain biking - your guide to riding in the cold
The Cinder collection builds on 40 years' worth of expertise in crafting clothing and equipment to protect athletes against the most adverse weather conditions. The new range claims to provide performance and comfort for all-mountain pursuits - making it sound perfect for bikepacking excursions.
The collection comprises 31 pieces, including cargo bibs, cycling-specific trousers, wind-and waterproof jackets and short and long-sleeve jerseys. The pieces are available in both women's and men's fit and in several colourways.
Andy Schimeck, Global Sales Director at Rab, summarised Cinder: “Rab has enjoyed the credibility and trust of mountaineers around the world for decades. When it comes to technical clothing and protection from the elements, we have the expertise to deliver the ultimate bike wear for mountain people. With our new Cinder bike collection, we offer the perfect gear for any mountain person on two wheels. Whether that’s gravel, adventure, or mountain biking, multi-day bikepacking or afternoon training to get ready for the next expedition.”
The products are combining packability and functionality. For example, the Cinder Phantom is a waterproof jacket weighing 100g and comes with a frame attachable stuff sack if you don't have space for it in your bikepacking bags. If you appreciate more breathability, the Kinetic jacket features Rab's Proflex construction making this jacket a softshell with the waterproof protection of a traditional hardshell.
Rab's not ignored the bottoms but has designed a gravel-specific chamois that is featured in the Cinder Bibs, Cargo and Liner Shorts.
We can't wait to have some of the Cinder range in for testing, so keep your eyes open for the full reviews of this kit - and in the meanwhile, you can check all the details from Rab's website.
