Ragley overhauls its MTB range with fresh geometries for 2023

Ragley is a British brand that's known for producing great hardtails, and it has acknowledged that bikes have progressed - and updated its range. Ragley has now refreshed its whole range to keep up with current trends, meaning that each bike in the range has received a well-deserved geometry update.

Not only have the bikes been tweaked but the overall range has become much more defined, allowing riders to pick a frame that best suits their riding and terrain. The range now includes Marley 29, which sits alongside the much loved Marley 275, and both of these bikes have got a trail-focused geometry.
Ragley's 27.5in Mmmbop and Blue Pig frames, as well as the 28in Big Al and Big Wig frames have got a more aggressive geometry that's best suited to enduro riding.
To make these bikes pedal, fit, and descend better than before, Ragley has introduced shorter seat tube lengths, slacker head tube angles, steeper seat tube angles, longer wheelbase, and lower bottom brackets. Only the brand's Trig gravel bike remains unchanged.

Putting those geometry changes into numbers: all bikes have got up to 30mm lopped off the seat tube lengths. The trail focussed Big Al and Big Wig frames have got up to 25mm added to their reach figures, and the seat tubes are a full degree steeper and their head tubes two degrees slacker. Their bottom brackets have been dropped by and added 5mm too.
As for the Blue Pig and Mmmbop enduro bikes, their reaches have grown by up to 15mm and their seat tubes got a degree steeper. Their head tube angles have also been slackened by 0.75 degrees and the bottom bracket heights lowered by 5mm.
The Marley 29, however, gets a similar geometry to last year's Big Wig, which means a 460mm reach on a large frame, with a 75-degree actual seat tube angle, a 65-degree head tube angle, and a 435mm chainstay. The Marley 27.5 gets an almost identical geometry, aside from its short 425mm reach, 50mm bottom bracket drop, and 1193mm wheelbase on a size large bike.
Using the Big Al as an example of Ragley's new enduro geometry, a large frame gets a 480mm reach, a 63.5-degree head tube angle, a 75-degree seat tube angle, and a 435mm chainstay length. That's with a 70mm BB drop and a 1252mm wheelbase.
Where's the Piglet, I hear you ask? Well that's one won't be featured in Ragley's 2023 range.
Ragley's tweaked alloy bikes (Marley 275/290, Mmmbop, and Big Al) are available now, while the steel framed rigs (the Big Wig, Blue Pig, and Trig) can be picked up from mid-June.
