Raleigh to open a cycling experience centre in Nottingham
The centre will act as a community hub and provide information about the history of the British brand
Raleigh has announced the launch of an experience centre in its home town, Nottingham. The space on Maid Marian Way will be an exhibition hub for the brand's historical bicycles - some of which have become iconic since Sir Frank Bowden founded Raleigh in 1887.

Raleigh's intention is to make the experience centre a community space, where local schools and organisations can engage in educational activities - both about cycling and the brand itself.
The experience centre will have some Raleigh classics on show, including the recently reincarnated Tuff Burner, as well as Chopper and Grifter. But the centre will also stock the more modern Raleigh and Haibike models for customers to try out, so they can have an idea of what works best for them from the local brand's range.
"While consumer habits have changed and we are seeing more engagement online, we still believe that a retail store has its place in the bicycle market, consumers still want to see and test bikes before making a purchase. More so consumers are looking for an experience – to be excited by the brand and to build trust with a local point of contact," Raleigh’s Managing Director, Lee Kidger, said.
The Raleigh experience centre is expected to open its doors in late November.
