British-based Saracen, a podium-winning mountain bike brand, has launched new downhill and enduro mountain bikes to its Myst and Ariel ranges. The new bikes have a fresh look and updated specs - read on to find out the details.

Saracen Myst - downhill mountain bike

The new Myst is a race-ready downhill machine replicating the podium-winning bike that Matt Walker rode at the Mountain Bike World Cup this year.
The Myst is designed for fast downhill mountain biking, straight out the gate, and is one of the only mixed-wheel size downhill bikes - with a 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear wheel and a CNC custom link.

The frame comes with an alloy front triangle and a carbon swing arm and internal cable routing. The updated geometry includes a 20mm longer reach on all sizes and Saracen has added an XL size to cater to more riders. The reach is adjustable by 5mm, and the bike's front has built-in bump stops, as well, to stop the bar from over-rotating and potentially damaging the top tube.

There are three builds available for purchase with the Myst Pro and Myst AL benefitting from RockShox Boxxer forks and Marzocchi Bomber CR shocks. Their drivetrains come from SRAM. As for the range topper, the Myst Team, that one gets Fox Factory suspension both front and rear, with a Shimano Saint groupset. Each bike rolls on its own wheelset with the Team getting DT Swiss hoops, the Pro getting Race Face wheels and the AL comes with Saracen's own.
The Myst X 29/27 frameset will set you back £2,399, with the complete builds costing £2,799 for the AL, £3,99 for the Pro and £5,399 for the Team model.
Saracen Ariel - enduro mountain bike

Saracen’s new Ariel 60 model for enduro mountain biking comes in three configurations; the 60, 60 Pro, and 60 Elite. They’re all built with the same aim to offer quality riding on the trails between or outside the tapes.
The Ariel features an all-new 160mm suspension platform on the custom-butted and hydroformed 6013 aluminium frame with internal cable routing.
Ariel comes with size-specific wheels, with the small and medium bikes coming in 29in front and 27.5-inch mullet setup, and the large and extra-large have 29-inch hoops. If you wish to change the wheel sizes, Saracen has thrown in additional push links for easy swaps.

The Ariel comes in eight different builds offering different amounts of suspension travel including Ariel 30X and 60X framesets. Each features Fox or Marzocchi suspension, Shimano drivetrains, DT Swiss wheels, and Maxxis rubber.
The Ariel 60x frameset will set you back £1,799, with the complete builds costing £2,599 for the 60, £3,499 for the 60 Pro and £4,399 for the Elite.
The new models are available for pre-order now, with expected delivery in January.
