Spingery's motocross wheels proved to be a solid choice for bikes with up to 110kg with over 50 brake horsepower and huge torque figures. The brand has then taken the mechanical features of the MX wheels and has applied them towards the demands of gravel bikes.
The GX Max wheelset was designed with the ever-evolving demands of gravel riders as they take their bikes over tougher and tougher terrain.
The Spinergy GX Max wheelset gets a larger 24mm internal rim width and 28 spokes for greater lateral stiffness which should be noticeable in the corners and when you're hammering on the pedals, out of the saddle.
The new wheels also get a cassette driver ring with a greater diameter and pawl carrier which Spinergy says will offer better power transfer.
Of course, the GX Max wheelset gets Spinergy's renowned PBO spokes. Rather than made of alloys as almost all other spokes are, each PBO spoke is made up of over 30,000 strands of Polyphenylene Bensobisoxazole fiber. Those spokes are promised to offer three times the strength of stainless steel at half the weight.
Those strands are then encased in a composite that is UV and waterproof. The culmination of that tech, Spinergy says, creates a spoke that's super strong, that will absorb impact and keep a wheel true.
The new GX Max wheels are available in both 650b and 700C sizes, and a wheelset will set you back $1,000 (around £730).
