The Fox 36 gets a new crown for 2023
Fox has been quick to get its 2023 releases out there by updating the much-loved 36 fork. This time around, the brand has put its focus on the fork's crown, reengineering its design to drop its weight while boosting durability and maintaining stiffness.

The biggest update to the Fox 36 comes in its brand new crown. Fox says that it's managed to shave off 20 grams with its new design but that's not all as the steerer-tube overlap has been increased at the CSU and the new design is said to improve durability while keeping stiffness the same.
In a further bid to decrease the fork's weight, there's a Kabolt X axle, a floating axle that's said to shed a few grams while boosting torsional stiffness thanks to its sleeveless, single-sided pinch bolt design.
With these updates, Fox claims that the 36 in its 29", 160mm, Kabolt X 110, 3 position adjust guise weighs in at 1942g. That's with a 165mm steerer with a star-fangled nut and brake guide installed.
Along with that, everything else stays the same, such as the lower leg bypass channels that increase the air volume in the lower legs. These also help the lower leg bath oil circulate around the fork, keeping the foam rings and bushings lubricated.
The lower leg air bleeders are still present on this fork, allowing for atmospheric pressure equalization. Of course, the new design of the fork's arch remains too, offering more space for bulkier head tubes.
The new 36 comes in a range of models with FIT4 or GRIP2 dampers, Kabolt X or 15mm QR axles, and with 51 or 44mm offsets.
Prices for the 2023 iteration of the Fox 36 start at £1,139 for the Performance Elite GRIP2 model and they go up to £1,239 for a selection of Factory models.
