The YT Capra goes alloy - YT Industries introduces the Capra AL
A long time coming for some, but YT Industries has given the much loved enduro bike, the Capra, the alloy treatment. Coming in two new models the Capra AL will be available with both 650b and 29" wheel size options, and the move to alloy frames brings the Capra to an even friendlier price point.

The introduction of the new alloy models comes as a response to pretty high demand. To quench the thirst, YT Industries has released two new models, the Capra PRO AL and the BASE AL, both rocking alloy frames and wheel size options.
A neat feature is that the Capra AL models come with a short seat tube and that makes it possible to choose a frame size according to your taste, meaning that the new bikes should accommodate sizing up or down well.
With the choice of 29" or 650b wheels, the models get either 170mm of suspension or 180mm of travel front and rear respectively.
The Capra BASE will come sorted with a RockShox ZEB handling the travel at the front and that's paired with a RockShox Super Delux shock. This model then comes with a SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain and SRAM Code R brakes.
As for the wheels, they're sorted with a pair of DT Swiss E 1900 Splines and they're wrapped with a 2.5" Maxxis Assegai at the front, and a Maxxis Minion DHR II at the rear. Both of those tyres get EXO casings and Maxxis's Dual Compound rubber.
Then the bike gets an own-brand dropper post and an e*thirteen cockpit.
As its name suggests, the PRO models get an upgrade compared to the BASE models. As such, there's a Fox 38 Performance Elite matched with a Float DPX2 Performance Elite Shock. The drivetrain on the PRO models is a SRAM GX Eagle unit and then most of the kit is the same as what you'll find on the BASE model. However, there's an upgraded e*thirteen Plus cockpit and the YT dropper post comes with the MMX remote.
The new Capras are available in S to XXL, but the 29" models drop the size S, only coming in M to XXL.
The PRO models come in either Gunship Blue or Black Magic colourways, while the BASE models get either Metal Silver, or Black Magic choices.
If you're in the market for a shiny new alloy Capra the base models will set you back £2,400 and the PRO will cost £3,200.
