From the feedback we received last time we posted about Genesis, we reckon you really quite like this brand! It's without further ado then, that we will get on with the job in hand and tell you all about the new bikes in the 2018 range.

There are two brand new models in the 2018 Genesis range, the Fugio and the Mantle, plus a titanium addition to the Tarn breed of bikes, the TarnTanium. 

Fugio

First up; the Fugio, debuted as a 'road plus monster' sticking with the Genesis philosophy to make bikes that other companies might deem too 'odd'. This bike, Genesis says is a mix of their Equilibrium Disc and Croix de Fer with a sprinkle of Tarn, sounding good? The bike then adds 650B wheels, 50c tyres and a carbon fork to make a cake (sorry, a bike) that will happily take you wherever you want to go, both on and off road.  

The complete bike will have a Shimano 105 groupset, Shimano RS-505 hydraulic disc brakes and will come in at a penny under £2,000. You will also be able to get the frameset for £800. In this eye-catching white / orange / blue, we'd quite like to smash out some bridleway miles aboard the Fugio. 

Mantle

Genesis told us they thought the Mantle was the highlight of their 2018 range and with its clean lines and a sloping top tube meeting seat stays beautifully, it does look very nice indeed!  The Mantle is a new full carbon, XC race bike which Genesis says makes for a lightweight frame and a smooth, responsive ride. 

You'll be able to get the Mantle in two specification options, the Mantle 30 at £3,600 complete with Shimano Deore XT drivetrain and Fox 32 Step Cast forks, or the Mantle 20 at £2,600 which swaps XT for SLX gear and uses slightly lower end DT Swiss wheels to keep the price down. The Mantle 20 will, however, keep the same forks which provides a nice option, should you choose this bike with the idea to upgrade parts later in the year.  

TarnTanium

The third new addition to the Genesis family is the TarnTanium. As the name gives away this is a titanium edition added to the ever popular steel Tarn line up. The TarnTanium will come with 27.5"+ wheels and will be available as a frameset, with carbon forks at £2,000.

The steel framed Tarn will still be available as both a complete bike (£2,199) and as frameset (£600). Those who are fans of the big wheels can still roll around on a Tarn29 too if they so desire, it's still in the 2018 range.
