Verderer's Trail

Verderer's Trail
Nestled on the southern border of England and Wales, it's an MTB playground
  • 11km
  • 0.8 to 2 hours

This blue graded trail is one of the most popular at the Forest of Dean and with good reason; it's got amazing flow as it winds through the broadleaf woodland, with enough to keep advanced riders engaged and entertained without intimidating those new to mountain biking.

Named after the ancient post of Royal officer for forests, the Vederer's Trail might not be hugely long, but it has some really fun sections, especially the recently rebuild final descent. The overall surface is more hardpacked, smoother and slightly less raw than the red-graded Freeminer's Trail, so it's a great option if the weather is really foul and you don't want to slip-slide on roots all day.
