Lauf move from American Classic to DT Swiss wheels
Following the news that wheel brand American Classic would be closing its Taiwanese factory due to lack of demand from bike manufacturers, Lauf has announced that they'll be switching their bike builds to DT Swiss wheels from now on.

While thanking American Classic for their work over the years, Icelandic gravel bike and fork brand Lauf said that as "the demand for our True Grit gravel bike has greatly exceeded our most optimistic estimations, now is a good time to bring in a solid company like DT Swiss as a partner, as they make some of the best wheels with exceptional quality. For us to meet the increased sales volumes and high expectations of our customers, everything must run as clockwork in our supply chain."
They emphasised that anyone that currently has a Lauf with American Classic wheels will be taken care of by them in the case of any warranty issues.
The Race level True Grit bikes will replace the 24mm wide American Classic Race 29 with DT Swiss XR1501 29” at 22.5mm internal width, Weekend Warrior level bikes will swap 24mm American Classic AM28 rim with Terrain hub for DT Swiss X1900 29” and a 22.5mm internal width. There are slight weight increases across the board too, but in our experience, DT Swiss wheels are tough as old boots.
