Dangerholm gives us a glimpse into the future of MTB
Mountain biking is a sport that depends on technology and, because of that, it moves forward and develops frighteningly quickly. Wireless actuation of several components, as well as integration, are becoming commonplace on all kinds of bikes – and Scott's resident bike tinkering maestro has worked his magic on yet another bike. This time Dangerholm has turned his attention to the Scott Genius ST which gives us a look into the future.

In his latest build, not only has Dangerholm created what might be the tidiest-looking bike ever, but it also provides a glimpse into the future of mountain bikes and what they might become. He says that we're seeing improvements in the function, performance and riding experience that modern bikes offer and he picked Scott's newest Genius ST as the mule for his latest experiment.
He's noticed the influx of integration that's seen on mountain bikes and has pushed the envelope even further, employing Syncros' Hixon iC Rise one-piece handlebar and modifying it to accommodate internally routed brake hoses from the Trickstuff Piccola HD brakes. Even though the man himself has drilled the holes for this routing, he says that the bar is suitably reinforced from the factory – he also stresses that this shouldn't be imitated.
TwinLoc is a standard of nearly all of Scott's bikes but let's face it, it can look rather messy. In Dangerholm's pursuit of integration, he has ditched the TwinLoc remote and has moved the three-position remote lockout to the bottom of the downtube, having built a custom lever.
At the front of the bike, there's an Intend Hero fork that furthers the integration story as the brake hose is routed through the steerer tube and crown.
Elsewhere there are the usual Dangerholm touches, including CeramicSpeed's T-Type OSPW and custom drivetrain carbon componentry from Hopp Carbon Parts. A full complement of titanium bolts sheds unnecessary weight and actuation of the derailleur is handled via a Zirbel Twister WE03 that's connected to a SRAM BlipBox.
All in all, this bike tips the scale at 13.60kg.
