The ANAMOLY flat pedal shoe has come out all guns blazing in its Kickstarter campaign. Looking to blow other flat shoe brands off the trials, these new shoes are built with a new rubber compound that promises tonnes of grip in some proper lairy styles. We've got all of the details.

ANAMOLY is the first-ever crowdfunded mountain bike shoe with some rather unique thinking behind it. The brand claims that all flat pedal shoes either look good and perform poorly or look awful and perform well. With the crowdfunded flat pedal shoe, it's claimed that the ANAMOLY shoe fills both of these roles, looking just as good as they perform.
Hero dirt, that perfectly moist mud/dirt stuff that's so great for riding, has been the inspiration behind the name of the rubber compound used on the ANAMOLY shoe. The guys behind the shoe have spent over two years developing the rubber compound, Hero Rubber, for it to be the stickiest rubber on earth, robust enough to cope with the rigours of mountain biking. ANAMOLY also says that Hero Rubber becomes stickier when wet, making grip on the pedals less concerning when the elements are against you.
It's designed to offer a smidge of rebound at a low rate to help absorb some impact forces before it hits your feet. Then, the rubber is formed into a coin-grip tread pattern which is promised to provide a magnet-like interlocking connection with a pedal's pins. ANAMOLY says that this tread pattern also works well off of the bike.
The shoe's look has been inspired by skate and snowboard shoes and is made from water and mud-proof materials, then formed into a high-tech but casual look.
But it's not all about looks and sticky rubber with the ANAMOLY shoe. It comes packed with features such as a hidden lace construction that creates a protective barrier between the laces and the elements, a handy elastic lace tidy, and strategically placed laser-cut perforations to let cool air in but keep water and other crud out. Then, there's a high medial side midsole to protect your foot arch and provide extra impact resistance.
You'll see that there are hardly any seams or stitches throughout the shoe. That's because ANAMOLY uses thermo-bonded stitchless and seamless construction. It's said that this technique sheds unnecessary weight while using less material. There's also a protective toe cap and a low-profile heel tab.
Finally, truly setting itself from the crowd the ANAMOLY shoe comes in a shed-load of colour options.
At the moment, we don't have prices for the ANAMOLY shoe but we do have a link to the crowdfunding page below. If you pledge at least $104, you'll get a pair in return, and delivery is expected in February of 2022.
