Calibre Launch the Line 10 Hardtail
Calibre, the bike brand of the budget outdoor equipment superstore, Go Outdoors, have today released a brand new hardtail mountain bike called the Line 10. Calibre is the brand brought us the Bossnut, a bike that has big performance for a small price and trumped many others along the way and the Line 10 hopes to continue that theme.
Calibre says the Line 10 was born out of frustration at the lack of well priced aggressive hardtails to rag through the mud in the coldest months. This little edit sets the bar high for the levels of abuse this bike is expecting:
The 27.5" wheeled Line 10 sticks at low price point, there is just one spec of bike on offer here and it'll cost you £750. For that amount of money you'll get Rockshox Recon 120mm fork, a Shimano SLX/Deore 1x drivetrain with 34T front chain ring and a 11spd Sunrace 11-42T cassette. Brakes specced are Shimano M506 levers with M447 calipers with a 180mm front rotor and 160mm at the rear. Rims come courtesy of WTB, the ST i29 32H tubeless ready rims are nice and wide from the off. Elsewhere there are Ritchey MTN Trail 760mm wide bars, a 45mm stem, Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.3” front tyre, Rapid Rob 2.25” rear tyre and a 120mm Tranz X Dropper - yes a dropper post is included for £750.
The geometry looks pretty well sorted, it will sit well amongst its trail bike competitors. The bike will be available in sizes Medium - XL, with the medium possessing a nice low seat tube height of 406mm.
It's great to see Calibre went with a 1 by drive train and external routing to keep maintenance fuss to a minimum during the gritty British winter.
Calibre says "The Line 10 is the ideal addition to your stable to save your pride and joy from the grit and grime of the coming months. Either way, you’ll be rolling home with a big grin on your face."
