Transition has wholeheartedly jumped onto the mullet craze and has kitted out the Patrol enduro rig with a 29" wheel at the front, and a 650b wheel at the rear, shifting it into full party mode. It comes sorted with an alloy frame and specially designed geometry for the new mixed wheel set up. Read on for all of the details.

The new Patrol's frame is built using 6061 aluminium with the aim to strike the balance between durability, strength and ride quality. It comes with all of the frame protection you'll ever need, including protection along the downtube, chainstay and seat stay. Included in the box is a shuttle guard too.
Along with all the protection, the frame comes sorted with a geometry adjusting flip-chip and 56mm/56mm press in headset cups that work with reach adjust headsets when used with a dual crown fork.
That flip-chip slackens the head angle by .5°, resulting in a 63.5° angle when it's flipped to the high setting and 63° in low. It also changes the effective seat tube angle from 78.1° to 77.6°. As for the bottom bracket, there's 15mm of drop in the high setting and 22mm when the chip is flipped.
Then the bike gets a 434mm chainstay in the SM and MD sizes which stretches to 440mm on the LG and XL bikes.
Of course, as with all Transitions, the new Patrol uses the brand's famed GiddyUp suspension kinematic which offers a balance of support and small bump sensitivity, says Transition.
The kinematic is designed to work with both coil and air shocks, and it's said that there's plenty of bottom-out control with both varieties.
At both ends, the Transition Patrol comes with 160mm of suspension but that can be changed if you bung in a shock with a longer stroke. Pop in a 205mm x 65mm stroke shock and the rear wheel travel will get bumped up to 170mm.
The new Transition Patrol is available in three different build kits offering Shimano XT, Deore or SRAM GX drivetrains along with Fox and RockShox suspension options. There's also a frame only option available.
The bike also comes in two colour options, Raw, or Blueberry.
