TweedLove festival and demo – Adrenalin Uplift now available all weekend!
TweedLove have just announced that they have partnered with Adrenalin Uplift to provide transport services up into Glentress and Innerleithen over the TweedLove Festival weekend. The uplift bus stop will be part of the expo village in the town centre of Peebles and will be open to everyone - though riders demo-ing bikes in the TweedLove Mega Bike Demo will have priority.
- Win! 3T finishing kit for your bike worth over £500
- Buyer's guide to the best gravel bikes for under £1,000
This is great news for brands demo-ing longer travel and DH bike at the event, which has also added Santa Cruz, Stif and Geometron to the impressive list of brands bringing their bikes.
“We’re very excited there’ll be uplift direct from the festival village this year – it means we can all do even more shredding, but not miss out on the expo, pizza, beer and everything in the festival. No question, it’s going to be the best bike weekend we’ve ever had,” said Neil Dalgleish from TweedLove.
Uplifts can be booked online at www.adrenalinuplift.co.uk and advance booking prices will be £5 to Glentress and £10 to Innerleithen, or you can get an uplift pass on the day at the festival – first come first served.
To book a bike to demo go to www.tweedlovemegademo.com and choose a brand, bike, and time slot. For just £10 a day you can book up to two bikes in advance, and ‘on-the-day’ slots will also be available for all bikes – but get there early to get the bike of your dreams at the time you want. Over 200 different bikes are available and brands at this year’s demo include 3T, Bergamont, Bird, Bombtrack, Calibre, Canyon, Cube, DMR, Geometron, Haibike, Hope, Ibis, Intense, Lapierre, Marin, Mondraker, Nukeproof, Orange, Pivot, Santa Cruz, Scott, Sonder, Stif, and Yeti.
We are heading up to Tweedlove on the 7th June ready to take a look a the stages for the British Enduro Champs and then to ride the Gritopia adventure ride on Saturday the 9th June - see you there!
We published the following news back in December:
The event organisers of Tweedlove announce the dates for the long awaited Grand Fonduro gravel race and also Gritopia, a gravel sportive. Entries open on Boxing Day in a 'gravel sale'!
Tweedlove has become a firm highlight of our riding calendar, thrown into the spotlight after hosting rounds of the Enduro World Series it now boasts the Whyte British Enduro Champs and a host of other events over a range of disciplines. Whether you are old or young, a keen racer or a rider, an enduro fan or 'gravelist', Tweedlove runs between May and June 2018 and will have something to suit your tastes, all with a great festival atmosphere thrown in.
Graveltastic
The long-awaited Gran Fonduro adventure event, originally scheduled for 2016, is now all set to go on Saturday 29 September next year, while Gritopia - a brand new gravel/adventure ride - has been scheduled for Saturday 9 June, and will join the event programme line-up at TweedLove’s ‘T on the Green’ big festival weekend in Peebles.
Gran Fonduro will be based in the beautiful grounds of historic Traquair House in the Scottish Borders’ Tweed Valley. The event name sums it up – a hybrid of gran fondo (sportive) and enduro, with timed stages and a choice of a shorter 60-70k ride or the full 100km (approx) loop. The ‘race’ stages aim to celebrate the different kinds of fun to be had with this kind of bike and cycling. Both routes will feature a challenging amount of climbing, as you’d expect around the big hills of the Tweed Valley district.
Timed singletrack trail, long forest road climbs, gravel TTs, short sharp grinds and overall course completion time will all contribute to results. The event will also feature amazing food at the feed stations, plus camping, craft beer bar, DJ and post ride food courtesy of top local chefs. There’s even a maze in the historic grounds of Traquair House.
Both these events will venture deep into the Tweed Valley backcountry on some beautiful and undiscovered gravel and forest roads, with Gritopia using a 60km course to serve as a great introduction to this kind of riding and a fabulous taste of the wild roads and tracks of the Tweed Valley hinterland.
TweedLove’s Boxing Day ‘Gravel Sale’ will offer big discounts on both events - and a very special ‘Double Your Grit’ offer including both Gritopia and Gran Fonduro – the offer will be available for 24hours on Boxing Day only.
Enduro big and small
Fans of bigger tyres and less distance can look towards the range of other events that Tweedlove 2018 will host. Events such as the likes the Whyte British Enduro Champs, a race held on what are arguably some of the best trails in the UK to the G-Form Enjoyro - a grass roots race designed to get you stared at enduro racing in a 'fear free' environment. It's also worth checking out other scheduled enduro races run by the good people of Tweedlove here, there's Vallelujah in March and The King and the Queen of the Hill in August.
Riders of cross-country roots might be interested in the Odlo Glentress Seven, a seven-hour team relay XC race, as many laps as you can over the challenging course wins.
