Assos' new jacket doubles as a handlebar bag
Much like top-end racing, bikepacking breeds innovation with brands working hard to find new and exciting ways of making life on the gravel roads ever easier. That's exactly the case with Assos' new Löwenkralle, a jacket that doubles as a handlebar bag that even looks like it comes with a bit of storage capacity.

Teased only on Assos' socials through a series of quick-cut videos, information on this new system is pretty slim but what we do know is that the Löwenkralle employs the brand's Pave woven textile. We're told that this fabric is designed to offer thermal insulation, windproofing, and water resistance.
Of course, the real special feature of this jacket is its ability to roll up into a bar bag, a place where many gravel riders will consider storing a packable jacket anyway. The bag looks to attach to the bars via a couple of buckles and straps but it's not clear where these sit while the bag is in jacket mode. If this bag can offer some capacity, this product looks to be a bit of a winner.
Only coming in black, the Löwenkralle gets reflective details all over and Assos says the jacket is designed for rides 'beyond the tarmac'. As for availability, we don't have any information but we do know that it'll set you back a pretty £290.
