Cairn, the brand known for its e-gravel bikes, has released a new E-Adventure Rambler Edition gravel steed. This bike is even more adventure-ready, featuring a Fazua drive system, a longer, slacker and lower geometry, and suspension compatibility. Here's everything you need to know.

Cairn has designed the E-Adventure Rambler Edition to be used as a tool that can get you to places that can't be accessed by any other means of transport. The brand has built upon the previous E-Adventure iterations making the Rambler Edition lighter, faster, and more versatile.

To do this, the brand has taken a long hard look at the bike's geometry and altered it with the aim of creating a more capable gravel bike without losing the lively characteristics that were loved by the previous model's fan base. The E-Adventure Rambler is graced with a 74-degree seat tube angle that the brand reckons offers better climbing support whilst maintaining rear-end traction.

Up front, there's a 70-degree head tube angle with a 75mm trail, both of which have been chosen to create a more predictable, stable, and comfortable ride when descending. Cairn has also increased the bottom bracket drop to 80mm without changing the stack height in order to sit the rider more 'in' the bike, rather than perched on top. The brand has even designed this geometry around a suspension fork if you're looking to boost its capability even further.

With that, the E-Adventure Rambler Edition can accommodate a fork with 30-40mm of squish and 40-45mm of offset. The fork must have 12x100mm spacing though if you're looking to keep the stock wheelset. 

Cairn believes that this bike's geometry works best with 700c wheels, so that's exactly what it gets. Unfortunately, this bike isn't built to run any other wheel size.

Cairn has also introduced a range of updates to the frame design itself. There's now more flex in the seat post in the pursuit of comfort and the standover has been decreased on all sizes. The chainstay yoke has been redesigned too with smaller tube diameters that boost vertical compliance without affecting lateral stiffness. 

The downtube profile has been decreased by around a quarter, making for a lighter frame but also making the front triangle more compliant.

Cairn continues its partnership with Fazau, building the E-Adventure Rambler Edition with a Fazua Ride 50 Street Drivepack and bottom bracket which can offer an extended range thanks to Cairn's Range Extension pack.

This bike also benefits from Campagnolo's Ekar 13-speed shifting. This has also helped the brand create its lightest e-bike yet, with the E-Adventure Rambler Edition claiming to weigh only a smidge over 14kg. The E-Adventure Rambler also features HUNT E-Gravel Disc wheels which come with a steel axle and an increased pawl contact area.

The E-Adventure Rambler Edition is available in five sizes from XS up to XL, all of which can fit up to 45c tyres and have additional cage mounts on the forks and downtube.
